When I started teaching high school a dozen years ago, I started in science. That was a lot of fun. My favorite memory is bringing the Van de Graaff generator into my grade 9 applied science class for them to play with. They loved it so much, they played with it (and shocked themselves) for 75 minutes straight… every single Friday.

Now I teach math, and sadly there is little opportunity for such exciting demonstrations. Still, we have a lot of fun collecting data! And playing monopoly! My favourite course is the data management course, which you can find out more about here, though I’m excited about the new challenges ahead.
